Vocal Standard
The Vocal Standard Barbershop Quartet has been together since April, 2013. Mike Cramer, Steve Curtis, Ron Fabian, and Gary Mishler (bass), are all members of the Pretzel City Chorus. The quartet features a variety of musical selections in its repertoire and is available to entertain at events.
Mike Cramer, Tenor
Mike has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 9 years and sings lead with the Reading Pretzel City Chorus. Mike's first experience with barbershop harmony was during high school when he was part of the quartet in his high school's production of "The Music Man".
STeve Curtis, Lead
Steve is a 20 year barbershop member, singing tenor in both the Reading and Pottsville choruses. Steve’s dynamic sound has earned him the nickname “The Franchise”.
Ron Fabian, Baritone
Ron has been singing barbershop for 17 years, singing both tenor and baritone, but not at the same time. When not singing, he can usually not be found because he and his wife are traveling somewhere.
Gary Mishler, Bass
Gary is the newest barbershopper of the group, having joined the organization in 2011. He is a retired music teacher, serves as the former director of the Pretzel City Chorus, and plays trombone in several local musical organizations.
