Sound Unlimited
SOUND UNLIMITED, a barbershop quartet from the Reading, PA area, has been entertaining audiences for more than fourteen years. Like a fine wine, this quartet keeps getting better with age. Throughout the years the quartet has performed at many private and public occasions. They have also performed in the Society’s division and district level contests over the years.
Steve Curtis, Tenor
Steve Curtis is the quartet's Tenor and newest member of the group. Steve joined Sound Unlimited in the fall of 2004 and immediately added a new dimension of sound to the quartet. That’s how he earned the nickname, “The Franchise.” The quartet is very happy to welcome “The Franchise” to the group! Steve, a 19 year barbershop member, is a member of the Reading and Pottsville barbershop chapters.
Don Hutchinson, Lead
Don Hutchinson is the quartet's fearless Leader. He has been singing barbershop music with the Pretzel City Chorus for 30 years. Don's smooth singing is certain to please any crowd. When Don isn't singing, you might find him playing tennis at a local court. In 2007, Don “Hutch” Hutchison was inducted into the Berks County Tennis Association Hall of Fame! Congratulations, Don!
Bob Focht, Baritone
Bob Focht is the quartet's Baritone. He has been singing with the Pretzel City Chorus for 19 years. Although he's always reminded by the quartet that the baritone part is the “garbage part,” Bob just presses on. He likes to remind the quartet members that nobody else is talented enough to handle the baritone part. Bob is also the quartet's contact person.
Charlie Lehman, Bass
Charlie Lehman is the quartet's Bass. Throughout the years, he has sung in several different barbershop chapters and quartets. He is currently a member of the Reading, Pottstown, and Bryn Mawr barbershop chapters. Charlie is the quartet's spokesperson since he has the “gift of gab.” It’s hard to believe, but Charlie has been singing barbershop songs for 53 years
