The Pretzel City Chorus in concert
Founded in 1948, the Pretzel City Chorus is a non-profit men’s chorus whose mission is to bring people together, touching hearts, by sharing the joy of American barbershop harmony. Celebrating a rich history of close harmony with southeastern Pennsylvania audiences for more than 70 years, Pretzel City Chorus is proud to be the Reading, PA Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
We perform two main performances each year: our Spring Show and our Christmas Show. In addition, we perform at numerous events around the region throughout the year.
The Pretzel City Chorus includes high school and college students, musicians, and men from all walks of life who simply enjoy raising their voices in song.

Our Programs
In addition to our weekly rehearsals, our programs include:
- The Barbershop Harmony Society Competition Circuit- two to three regional and international chorus, quartet, and collegiate quartet contests per calendar year.
- The Pretzel City Chorus’ Annual Concert Series- Two self-produced concerts yearly, along with a brisk schedule of commissioned quartet, small group, and full chorus performances
- Ready, Set, Sing! - A program to introduce the joy of singing four-part barbershop harmony to the uninitiated.
